Backtest Until It's Boring
Month two is where the model stops being my claim and becomes your statistic. One model, one window, one month of honest data — the full regimen from the Track Everything chapter.
The Regimen
-
One model only: the Freedom Model — SSMT plus tCISD inside 9:00–10:30 EST. No mixing, no tweaking mid-month.
-
Fixed parameters: same risk per trade, fixed 2R target, break-even at 1R. Every variable you hold still makes the data cleaner.
-
Journal every setup the model produced — the wins, the losses, the break-evens and the no-trade days. The losses are the most valuable entries in the journal.
-
Tag everything: before/after 9:30, hidden vs regular SSMT, star rating. The tags are what turn a trade log into pattern recognition.
What the Data Gives You
A win rate, a profit factor, and a max drawdown that are yours. When you eventually take a live losing trade, you won’t need to feel your way through it — you’ll check it against your own numbers and carry on. That’s the entire psychological edge, manufactured in advance.
The Milestone
-
By day 60: a stats sheet from at least one full month of backtested data, and the model’s setups look so familiar in the playbook that taking them feels boring. Boring is the goal.
